Illumination Within - Jin Rilong Solo Exhibition

BOUNDED SPACE is honored to announce that from July 4 to August 29, 2026, it will present artist Jin Rilong’s solo exhibition, titled Illumination Within. This exhibition is co-organized by the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Du Xiyun as the curator. This exhibition brings together Jin Rilong’s recent sustained explorations in abstract language, alongside the inner spiritual experiences unfolded through his painterly practice.

Jin Rilong’s artistic trajectory has undergone a rich evolution, moving through realism, expressionism, abstract expressionism, and multimedia art. Then gradually turning toward geometric abstraction dominated by structure, order, and rhythm, through which he distills complex life experiences and spiritual insights. In this continuous process of formal purification, his works growing serene and assured, responding to the organizing and generative logic of inner consciousness.

His canvases are marked by rigorous vertical and horizontal lines and rich textures. They are not premeditated products, instead they emerge as improvised expeditions across vast and blank surfaces. In the creation, he experiences ecstasy and disappointment, success and failure, even turning “failure” into unexpected inspiration. Each brushstroke is a dialogue with the inner self, and a form of spiritual prayer.

Jin Rilong’s art is a synthesis of self-examination and transcendental resonance. Through points, lines, planes, spatial intervals, color, and material texture, he continually descends into the depths of the psyche, sensing the ineffable power. Beneath the seemingly calm geometric order lie the complex emotions and profound contemplations of a life.

Art is a carrier of manifold functions, not only presenting formal beauty but also revealing the traces of the soul. With a concise and resolute geometric vocabulary, Jin Rilong condenses the complexity of human experience and the depths of the spirit onto the canvas, inviting viewers to join him in descending into the inner depths, to feel both the turbulence and the tranquility of the mind.
