On January 31, 2026, the group exhibition "Observing the Unapparent: The Contingent Space of Painting’s Ontology" officially opened. The exhibition is hosted by BOUNDED SPACE, curated by Gao Jiangbo, with Sun Evelyn serving as the executive curator. Introducing the phenomenon and concept of the "Observer Effect," the exhibition theme focuses on the original context of the "observation" imagery in physics, using "how consciousness acts upon matter" (the "wave-particle duality" under the observer effect) as a core metaphor. It also incorporates its extensions in psychology, sociology, and contemporary art into the discussion of the possibilities of painting's ontology. By presenting the easel paintings of 24 artists, the exhibition explores the various creative potentials of "painting's ontology" beyond narrative and representation.
