‘《不是第一》杯具系列’— 安娜斯塔西娅·安蒂波娃
A section of the gallery space is transformed into a total installation exploring the nature of disconnection, alienation, and social distance in contemporary society.
The project features metallic medals, fabric curtains, and trophies.
The installation offers viewers a space for reflection on disconnection, while also hinting at the possibility of transformation. It examines the phenomenon of metamorphosis — particularly tricksterism — as a way of embracing one’s own vulnerability. Rooted in the idea of mutual support, the installation suggests that alienation can be overcome.
The entire space is infused with sports symbolism: victory rosettes, medals, and champion trophies. These elements reflect the painful aspects of everyday life — the constant comparison to others, the drive to be the best of the best, the fear of judgment and rejection, and the endless struggle with both obstacles and oneself.
The project is a call for unity in a divided society. It stands as an artistic reminder that in a world where everyone feels alone, help and understanding may be the true victories most worth striving for.
