Lei Jianhao

Jianhao Lei, born in 1998 in Changsha, Hunan, graduated from the High School Affiliated to the Central Academy of Fine Arts (2017), the Central Academy of Fine Arts (Bachelor’s degree, 2021), and the Central Academy of Fine Arts (Master’s degree, 2024). His work investigates the intricate connections between reality, fiction, matter, and technology, with a persistent focus on the failure of technological systems to form a continuing dialogue between substance and technique. He frequently incorporates early neural network algorithms, natural minerals, plants, readymade objects, and even natural environments to express a unique interplay of materiality and technological essence. Through an experimental creative process, Lei Jianhao continuously explores how new technologies can expand the boundaries of perception and redefine the relationship between humans and the world. His work is often a dynamic, open-ended process rather than a single definitive conclusion and has been exhibited in multiple international art institutions and spaces.
