‘蓝象’— 孙宇
The Cyan series is Sun Yu's attempt to present a post-human spiritual landscape through easel painting—a landscape where nature, the subject, and spirituality reconstruct their relationship, and the individual is invited to awaken through contemplation. Ultimately, the "Blue" series transforms silent matter into a spiritual symbol, allowing the viewer to perceive freedom within seemingly static images. The paintings point to the spiritual realm deep within consciousness. The cyan light is not a natural light source, but a reflection of the depths of consciousness—freeing the heavy from its weight, allowing the bound to find the possibility of ascension.
Sun Yu attempts to transform tranquil natural landscapes into introspective psychological spaces, seeking tension between Camusian absurdity and the orientation of "truth" in Eastern philosophy: freedom is neither an escape from reality nor an expansion of reason, but a lightness that consciousness gains in its inner world.

Sun Yu was born in Yixing, Jiangsu, China in 1992. He graduated from the Experimental Art Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China, where he completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees. Currently, he lives and works in Beijing as an artist. Sun Yu has a passion for nature and explores the interplay between individual consciousness and collective experience. His artistic creations encompass painting, installation, video, and performance. At the core of Sun Yu's work lies a focus on personal will and spirit. Through his art, he seeks to gain insight into the inner meditative state and the perception and manifestation of the mind in an era of diverse changes. He also aims to convey a supreme experience that encompasses multiple concepts and perceptions of phenomena.
