His creations focus on the existential proposition of "humans as remnants" in the post-technological era, exploring the complex relationships between materiality and spirituality that are constantly evolving after the collapse of the information order, as well as how the body, mythology, and algorithms interlock, intersect, and form new perceptual circuits in the midst of perceptual disintegration. Li Lai's works are detached from narrative traditions and are more akin to unnamed perceptual ruins: they no longer carry language meanings that may collapse at any time, but instead constitute some kind of "perceptual noise" with a continuous sensory intensity. In his creations, images are placed within the post-apocalyptic temporal context, a silent but radiating visual poetics, a perceptual creation that perceives the residual echoes of existence.
